Tristan Rogers, the guy behind Robert Scorpio, is remembered

The first time Tristan worked at General Hospital was in 1980. It was just supposed to be a couple of days long. Rather, Scorpio became one of the most well-liked characters on the soap opera. Tristan stayed until 1992 and returned over the years, most recently this year. Scorpio appealed to audiences because it was both charming and witty. Tristan had acknowledged how the role altered his life in unexpected ways. He found it difficult to go shopping or walk through an airport without being stopped at least once in his life.

He appeared in many soap operas, including The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, but none meant more to him than General Hospital. He had the opportunity to create a character in Scorpio that felt distinct from the typical heroes of the day. Fans of the show from the 1980s frequently associate those years with him.

Outside of television, Rogers led a more sedate existence. Friends described him as devoted and family-oriented. Teresa, his wife, his 32-year-old daughter, Sara Jane, and his 29-year-old son, Cale, survive him.

He continued to be a part of the history of General Hospital for more than 40 years. Many will never forget him in his trench coat, solving another mystery at Port Charles, and having a sharp line. Although his death marks the end of a chapter in daytime television, his legacy will endure.
